SEVILLE: Spain opened their European Championship campaign this time around with disappointment when tied Sweden without a goal despite dominating almost the entire game.
Luis Enrique’s men dominated most of the match which saw Sweden only able to hold on, but they failed to capitalize on a series of attacks to score.
The best chance came through Alvaro Morata after Marcus Danielson failed to produce the ball well, but the Juventus striker’s attempt went wide.
Dani Olmo’s header from close range was also denied by Robin Olsen before Koke’s attempt also failed to find the target.
Sweden’s best chance was created through Alexander Isak, but his attempt was right into the arms of Unai Simon, before Marcus Berg failed to complete the movement triggered by Isak when his attempt also went wide.
