Pochettino: PSG Not The Favorite

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) head coach Mauricio Pochettino does not believe his side are the favorites to win the Champions League after beating Bayern Munich.

PSG advanced to the semi-finals for the second time in a row with a goal advantage away from home after a 3-3 aggregate draw after losing 1-0 earlier this morning at home.

Ligue 1 champions PSG took revenge after advancing to the semi -finals, having lost in last season’s decisive action to Bayern.

PSG will face Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals, while Chelsea will meet the winner of the Liverpool-Real Madrid clash.

Pochettino, however, rejects the idea that PSG are the top options to win UCL this season.

“I’m not like that,” Pochettino told reporters when asked if PSG were the team of choice. “We have beaten Barcelona in the last 16 games in two games, we have also beaten Bayern in two games.

“I think we deserved to win both games, but I don’t think PSG are the main contenders to win the Champions League. There is still competition. We have deserved and Chelsea have also succeeded today.”

“We will see a clash between Man City between Dortmund and Liverpool between Real Madrid. Any team that is in the semi-finals has an equal chance of winning.”
