MANCHESTER: Manchester City fans gathered outside the Etihad Stadium to celebrate the team’s success in winning the English Premier League after nearest rivals Manchester United lost 2-1 at the hands of Leicester.
Hundreds of City supporters gathered at the Etihad following the result of the match between United and Leicester at Old Trafford.
Pep Guardiola’s City have secured a third league title in four seasons with three games remaining.
Fans are not allowed to attend Premier League matches for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that will change next week and allow 10,000 City supporters to watch the trophy handover when City face Everton at home on 23 May.
“It’s very important for me to thank all the supporters. In difficult moments, we can’t hear the voices of the supporters as usual, but we know they are always with us.
“I promise them that we always feel their love, we appreciate it and can’t afford to do it without them,” Guardiola said.
