WOLVERHAMPTON, United Kingdom: Liverpool revived their chances of grabbing a place in the top four of the English Premier League (EPL) after beating Wolves 1-0 at the Molineux Stadium, here, just now.
Diogo Jota returned to haunt Wolves by scoring the game’s lone goal on a night that saw home goalkeeper Rui Patricio forced to receive treatment after his head collided with team -mate Connor Coady.
Head injuries are no stranger to Wolves this season. Previously, his top scorer over the past two seasons, Raul Jimenez, had to be rested after his skull cracked against Arsenal in November.
Jimenez’s absence has also made Nuno Espirito Santo’s men even more saddened by the loss of Jota since he joined the English champions for 41 million pounds in September.
Over the past three months, Liverpool have also missed the touch of Jota’s injured knee, thus hampering his excellent start at Anfield.
His first goal since returning allowed Jurgen Klopp’s side to jump to sixth and just five points behind fourth -placed Chelsea.
“The important thing is the result. It’s a tough match. We got three dirty points, I don’t care. We have to get back on track,” Klopp said.
